Monday, July 07, 2003 ( 6:51 PM ) John Well we're down to 12 days until the wedding! Where has all the time gone? It seems just like yesterday when we got engaged and now we're about to get married! Today Melissa and I applied for our marriage license. They asked all kinds of weird questions on that application.... Like "Do you live on a Farm?" and "Are you now under the influence of narcotics?". Anyway, it takes a day to process our application and we can pick it up tomorrow. Last week we sent our wedding bands off to be engraved. We thought long and hard about what we want engraved on each band.. I decided to have this put on Melissa's: "If lost return to Melissa True.." Pretty romantic right? Honestly though, we're keeping what is engraved on each other's ring secret. I don't know what is going to be on mine and she doesn't know what will be on her's. If you have been reading Melissa's posts then you know that we finally figured out where we are going on our honeymoon. We actually made the decision about two months ago. I have just been really slow about getting the information posted on our webpage. I'm going to try to post it tonight. So if you go to the "Honeymoon" link and I still haven't posted anything then email me and give me a hard time ( jtrue@cbnstl.com ). Friday, June 06, 2003 ( 10:16 AM ) Melissa Well, we can finally say that we get married next month! That's exciting! My bridal shower was last Sunday and everyone who helped did an awesome job with the decorations and the food. I couldn't have asked for a better shower! Thanks to everyone who came too, it was great to see so many people there! We put down the final payment on our honeymoon and we are going to pick out wedding bands tonight. Everything is finally coming together. It was so nice to have over a year to do all of the planning and getting to savor every minute of it. I'm glad to most of the major planning done, because I have to start classes on Monday :( Hope you all have a great week. See you in 6 weeks!!!!!! Wednesday, May 28, 2003 ( 9:21 AM ) Melissa Okay, I'm finally posting. Things have been crazy trying to get things done, but everything is falling into place. A lot of this is due because of Stacy reminding me of all I have to get done-Thanks Stacy!!!! Anyways, I start summer classes in one week and once they are over, we only have one more week until the big day. John finally got the honeymoon arranged, so you'll have to check out the honeymoon link. If you have not signed the guestbook yet, we'd love to hear from you! Tuesday, April 15, 2003 ( 1:56 PM ) John Melissa is sick again... in more ways than one. Not only does she have a runny nose and a sore throat.. she also just bought "Ernest Goes To Camp" on DVD. Pretty scary right? Our invitations are in and they look great! Thanks to everyone for helping us pick them out.. and to Kaitlyn for picking them up for us.. and to Steph for delivering them from Kaitlyn to us. What teamwork!! Today, I went to the courthouse on my break and got all the paperwork necessary to get our passports. All we have to do now is track down our birth certificates, get some passport photos taken, fill out a bunch of paperwork, pay them $85/each and then wait about 4 weeks for our passports to come back. I still have not made up my mind about the honeymoon.. I've been narrowing it down though. I'm currently looking at Cancun, Cozumel, Tulum and the rest of the Riviera Maya. The travel agent assures me that I have plenty of time to make a decision.. Here is a link to one of the resorts that we might end up going to: Bahia-Principe Tulum Well.. I better get off of here.. Talk to you later John Monday, March 31, 2003 ( 9:13 PM ) John Wow! Look at this! An update? Yep, that's right! We got a few things done over Melissa's spring break.. We spent a day down in Evansville working on wedding plans. We ordered our invitations. They are already in, so we just have to go pick them up. (Actually, Kaitlyn is nice enough to pick them up for us!) We also registered for gifts. We spent about FOUR HOURS in Target!! We also registered at Kohls and Bed, Bath and Beyond. We walked around those stores so much that Melissa's feet started to hurt so bad that she had to break down and buy a pair of comfortable sandals just so she could keep going! You can find links to all of the registries on the "Gift Registry" page. Sunday, March 02, 2003 ( 9:18 PM ) Melissa Hey guys....As you can see, I don't get a lot of chances to post much of anything on our site. I guess I don't have as much spare time as someone I know. Anyways, there will be more pictures added, John is going to post our engagement pictures SOON! Wedding plans are coming along, slowly! Spring break is in a couple of weeks, so while all of my friends are enjoying Las Vegas, I will be keeping very busy trying to get stuff done for the wedding. I appreciate everyone signing the guestbook, it's always very fun to read! Hope everyone has a wonderful week! Monday, February 24, 2003 ( 9:11 PM ) John I guess it's been quite a while since I updated this thing! We've been pretty busy with work and school so there really hasn't been much to report. Last Friday night Melissa and I went to Longaberger Bingo.. and I think it might be the last time we go to Longaberger Bingo. At least the money we spent there went to a good cause. Afterwards we got together with Melissa's Aunt Cindi and Uncle Tim at Tumbleweed for dinner and then her cousin Eli slept over at Melissa's apartment. On Saturday my sister Maggie and Melissa's sister Kelsey came up to be fitted for their bridesmaids dresses. I spent the afternoon in Vincennes at the Big Brothers Big Sisters "Bowling For Kid's Sake" charity bowling event. I ended up bowling a 110.. I was just happy that I didn't come in last and that I didn't bust my butt. Saturday evening, Melissa, her mom Joni and her sister Kelsey all stayed over at my apartment in Sullivan. We had a pretty good time.. ordered out Bobe's pizza and then we played some games and watched a movie Today I went to a travel agency and started to try to narrow down our honeymoon choices. I appreciate everyone's input on our honeymoon destination. When we get it narrowed down to one or two places I'm sure I'll be asking everyone's opinion again. I guess that's all for now... take it easy. |
